During the total hip replacement arthroplasty, reported the use of bone graft or very small acetabular cup for the deformed acetabulum due to C. D. H. sequelae or sequelae of joint infection.recently, Oonishi et al. was pronounced
"Interface Bioactive Bone cement(I. B. B. C.)" techique to solve the problems in the interface between a bone and traitional PMMA bone cement, this technique allows HAp granules to interface in several layers between a bone & bone cement.
Authors analysed 7 patients 8 hips treated at Inje Univ. Seoul Paik Hosp. from sep. 1992 to Oct. 1993.
@ES The results obtained were as follows.
1. The underlying diseases were septic hip sequelae, Tbo. hip sequelae & sequelae of CDH in 2 cases each other and epiphyseal dysplasia multiplex in 1 patient 2 hips.
2. The average Harris hip score was increased from 60.16 preoperatively to 87.75 postoperatively.
3.. The thin radiolucent line between a bone and bone cement was seen at follow-up X-ray, but no definite migration of cup. relatively satisfactory result could be obtained for deformed acetabulum with I. B. B. C. technique, but
although
reported group was very small, so necessory to long term follow up.
